(Junior) Social Media Manager Nordics (f/m/d)

We are looking for a (Junior) Social Media Manager to join our passionate and motivated Nordic Sales and Marketing team in Munich and contribute to our continuing success in the Nordic markets.

As Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for the social media activities in the Nordics – from working on a strategy in collaboration with the wider international social media team, to ensuring successful local implementation – always retaining a focus on our strategic objectives of growing the reach and engagement of our social channels. To succeed in this position, you should be target-oriented, creative, numbers-driven, actively seek new growth opportunities and have a genuine interest in the latest industry developments.

In this role, you will report to the Nordic Online Marketing Team Lead and work closely with various teams.

Take on the opportunity to drive growth, be creative and take ownership to strengthen zooplus’ position as Europe’s Nr. 1 Online Pet Store on our local Social Media platforms!

Role and key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the conception and delivery of local social media content across key platforms, as well as for the local planning and execution of global campaigns.
  • Build the zooplus social media community through the development of engaging and shareable content. Turn followers into brand ambassadors.
  • Act as the subject-matter expert, using emerging trends and innovative techniques to continuously improve our social media presence and engagement.
  • Identify relevant influencers for zooplus and build productive relationships to integrate them into our brand communications
  • Create monthly reports and ad-hoc analyses which scrutinize existing practices and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze the social media activity of our competitors, suppliers, and other leading practitioners. Use these insights to shape our own approach.
  • Act as a counterpart to the head-office social media team; provide input and insight which helps shape our global social media strategy.


  • University degree or equivalent in digital marketing or similar commercial discipline
  • Business fluent in Danish, Norwegian, or Finnish, fluent in German or English
  • Significant professional experience in the management of Social Media accounts
  • Excellent content and story-telling skills, paired with an affinity for numbers and an analytical mindset
  • A solid understanding of content optimization and SEO requirements
  • A high degree of initiative and an ability to find creative solutions.
  • A problem-solving mindset and result-oriented way of working
  • Strong communication and team-working skills
