Logistics Process Engineer (f/m/d)

Job description

We are looking for a Logistics Process Engineer (f/m/d), who is ready to join our Fulfillment Team and takes an important part in shaping our “logistical” future.

As our Logistics Process Engineer (f/m/d) you are supporting our growth strategy by leading projects around identifying and implementing innovative and sustainable logistics processes, tailored to our needs. Growing our fulfillment center network efficiently and making our process scalable is a key task of this role.

You are part of cross-network projects, aligning with our internal and external stakeholders on processes, efficiency improvement initiatives and automation potentials.

You are suggesting and adjusting the technical requirements for our fulfillment centers to sustainably support our constant growth.

A perfect candidate identifies business needs and further project steps independently and develops a strong ownership of his/her projects. Thereby project results and progress are presented in a professional manner and business cases/case studies on new opportunities are being prepared structured and clear.

 
Your Responsibilities 

  • Planning, conception and leading implementation of innovative and sustainable logistics processes
  • Review, optimization and standardization of operational warehouse processes, work processes and workplaces
  • Help to drive the strategic development of the Engineering Team
  • Validate layouts of capacity increasing and automation projects
  • Driving cross-network projects (working with our FC Managers, LSPs, DSPs, suppliers and other key stakeholders)
  • Supporting data-driven decision making with data collection, analysis, and evaluation
  • Screening the market for new technological developments, market trends and competitor initiatives
  • Preparing complete business cases including correct cost models and P&L analysis
  • Developing testing and implementation plans for new technologies
  • Defining (acceptance) test criteria reflecting expectations jointly with suppliers and LSPs
  • Supporting the installation, commissioning, integration, testing and ramp-up of new equipment of our fulfillment centers
  • Identifying best practice approaches in order to optimize costs, service and quality
  • Guiding lean improvement projects and coach the improvement teams

Requirements

  • Finished Bachelor or Master's degree in the field of technical logistics or industrial engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of sound working experience in a comparable position in engineering consulting, intra logistics supplier or LSP engineering departments
  • Experience in the conception and implementation of logistics processes (e.g. inbound, put away, picking, packing, loading, shipping, returns, relocations, time studies, etc.)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of distribution and intra logistics, preferably in a retail/e-commerce or mechanical environment
  • Numerical view, analytical mindset and cost conscious
  • Experience in common methods of project management (e.g. project plans, timelines, LOPs, etc.) as well as lean management
  • Experience from leading multiple complex role related projects
  • Excellent communication skills and a high customer orientation
  • Ability to work in international teams demonstrating cultural sensitivity and social competence
  • Fluent in English
  • Willingness to travel (minimal 30%)
