(Senior) Associate Innovation lab (f/m/d)

Job description

Innovation lab aims to prepare zooplus for the future by transforming it into an innovative organization. We have set up a carefully thought out innovation process that can source, structure, screen and nurture good ideas from all levels of the organization and bring them to fruition.   • Engaging with the management (C-level), departmental heads and the entire organization to source strategically relevant and innovative ideas
  • Organizing hackathons, business competitions, ideation workshops, brainstorming sessions to structure and unleash the ideation capabilities of zooplus to meet strategic goals
  • Researching and scouting next generation trends and potential partners (e.g. startups, consultancies, communities, professional organizations, etc.) that can bring value to the company
  • Preparation of idea assessments (business value, technical feasibility, MVP definition, etc.) together with the thought owner (stakeholders)
  • Assist the management in screening and selecting well formulated ideas and planning allocation of resources for it
  • Development of initial prototypes for products (both IT and physical), processes and paradigms in a ready-to-fail, learn steep and improve fast environment
  • Presenting the project findings together with the thought owners (stakeholders) to the management and providing an unbiased recommendation of the viability
  • Preparing the plans for capture of the developed ideas into the mainstream business

Requirements

  • University degree with a strong quantitative focus, e.g. Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Business administration, Operations Research etc.
  • Strong programming skills in scripting languages e.g. Python, R, etc. and ideally other higher level programming languages e.g. Java or C++
  • Highly developed skills in SQL and Excel for quick initial analyses
  • Ability to handle and process large amounts of data and derive useful conclusions from it
  • Open mindedness and empathy to value ideas and understand pain of stakeholders
  • Creative thinking and problem solving skills, particularly in business environments
  • Great communication skills in English and ability to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audience alike
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a can-do-anything attitude
  • Skilled at working collaboratively in a team
  • Ideally some initial work experience in analytics, data science, logistics/production engineering or supply chain management
