Senior Inventory Manager (f/m/d)

Job description

We are looking for a passionate and result-driven Senior Inventory Manager (f/m/d) with strong analytical skills, the ability to consider the bigger picture when executing quantitative tasks, and effective communication skills to join the Procurement & Inventory Management team. The Procurement & Inventory Management team is part of the Operations Area in zooplus and makes sure that the products are available in the warehouses for customer orders. In this high impact role you will identify opportunities and drive projects to continuously improve availability and drive inventory health. You will closely collaborate with senior management in various functions like logistics, vendor management, or tech team and directly report to the Head of Procurement & Inventory Management. 

Your Responsibilities 

Guarantee a healthy balance between availability and inventory cost by

  • Analyzing data to provide visibility of missed KPIs and their root causes to all stakeholders and taking actions to fix them 
  • Leveraging data to support decision-making/derive decision guidelines 
  • Challenging the status quo and stimulating relevant stakeholders to think critically and creatively about optimizing sourcing and replenishment strategies 
  • Identifying structural problems/improvement opportunities and initiating projects 
  • Owning the “Inventory performance optimization” agenda and successfully influence and drive your initiatives forward; create impact as project manager for some selected key projects 
  • Collaborating with internal tech teams and contributing to further enhance system capabilities and automation of key processes  


  • University degree in a business, technical or analytical discipline
  • 5+ years of significant experience gained in a project-oriented role with analytical focus (e.g. consulting, project management), ideally in the area of logistics/supply chain management/procurement
  • Advanced Excel user; experience with SQL and/or phyton is a plus
  • Great analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior management & influence key stakeholders without being political
  • Proactive attitude and great team player
