At our Munich’s headquarters, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Vendor/Purchasing Manager (f/m/d) – join Europe’s leading online retailer of pet supplies now and become part of the success story.

As a Senior Vendor/Purchasing Manager (f/m/d), you are part of the Brand Label Non-Food Team. You will be responsible for managing a group of vendors that supply key pet products for multiple categories. Your focus will be to manage the ordering and flow of all inventory for Non-Food Merchandise categories with the goal of maximizing sales by maintaining high availability while controlling inventory to achieve improved stock turns and better forecast accuracy. This position functions as the key interface between the suppliers and the category management, logistics, supply chain, accounting teams, requiring the ability to build strong cross functional relationships.

Your tasks include among others:

  • Developing, implementing, and controlling of short-term and long term assortment planning, as well as proactive/reactive management to ensure forecasts, volumes, funding collection, and inventory targets are met or exceeded
  • Evaluating outliers, rooting cause and providing solutions to cross functional partners for improvements to processes
  • Developing and maintaining vendor relationships, both within and outside of the EU
  • Negotiating payment terms and cost structure in contractual agreements
  • Influencing strategic or complex vendors to prioritize customer experience by lowering costs, improving the supply chain, reducing defects, and driving efficiencies
  • Responsible for holding Suppliers and Internal Stakeholders accountable for purchase orders while developing recommendations for improvement
  • Reviewing results of promotions and adjusts course of action if required by negotiating new promotions if needed
  • Attending trade shows in order to identify new suppliers, enhance innovation and product categories that will influence item assortment, new item listing, pricing, and align to the corporate strategy


We are looking for this profile:

  • Graduate degree in engineering, supply chain, merchandising or a business-related discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience in Supply chain or other significant and relevant work experience in the FMCG industry or retail business as a (Senior) Category Manager, Vendor Manager, Purchasing Manager and/or Buyer, previous e-commerce experience is an asset
  • Experienced in independent contract and condition negotiations
  • Fluent English is mandatory, fluent German would be of great advantage
  • Fundamental knowledge of MS-Office (especially Excel and Power Point) and SAP
