Job description

As a technical product owner within the security engineering chapter, you will be joining the infrastructure platform & security services department.
You will work at the heart of Zooplus IT responsible for continuous operations and relentless improvement of our 24/7 e-commerce infrastructure.
Working in a product organization means focussing on primary topics (technical products) whilst supporting and collaborating on cross-functional topics. With an already strong and mature DevOps and infrastructure as code approach, we focus on further developing and innovating on new parts of our platform as well as enabling and guiding our technical users and DevOps teams. You are given the freedom to develop a preference and focus
on technical products in your chapter, while engagement in supporting other technical products is welcome and supported.

Chapter overview

The security engineering chapter is a new central IT function. The technical product owner reports directly to the chapter lead IT security and the Head of Infrastructure Platform & Security Services indirectly. The mission of the chapter is to support and consult all technical products in the Zooplus IT as well as other business functions proactively and operate crucial security-relevant technical products centrally in the chapter. All with the aim to increase the security level with a holistic approach and improve the operational resilience of Zooplus based on tailored risk management.

Your responsibilities 

  • You will support the security engineering chapter caring for central technologies as well as processual integration  
  • You collaborate with the information security officer (ISO), Data Protection team as well as the security ambassadors in our DevOps teams 
  • You will ultimately be responsible for the delivery and ongoing management/maintenance of third-party products to meet data privacy and information security needs. You will coordinate, own and manage the priority of delivery of third-party products in coordination with the participating stakeholders. 
  • You partner closely with area engineering managers, area architects, other product owners, as well as the information security and data protection team to effectively integrate the third-party tools into the zooplus environment.  
  • You start with a selection of third-party products already assigned for roll-out. Over time, the product owner is expected to proactively work with the data protection and information security team and other stakeholders to identify other suitable solutions in order to manage privacy and
    security requirements 
  • You engage in and build up a rotating on-call duty for your chapter as soon as personnel capacity allows


  • You possess an advanced university degree in computer science (master or diploma) 
  • You have hands-on experience in E-Commerce IT departments 
  • You already worked in an IT security or data protection function ideally for at least two years 
  • You are passionate about securing new technologies as well as emerging threats towards established technologies 
  • You are passionate about privacy topics 
  • You optionally possess one of the field relevant certifications in good standing: CIPT, CIPM, CIPPE, OSCP, OSCE, TISP, CISSP, CISM or ISO 27001 or ISO27035 Lead Manager 
  • Knowledge / Experience in at least one of the following areas would be helpful: 
  • Working in a team with a holistic IT security setup 
  • You have experience working with DevOps teams and public clouds (i.e. AWS, Azure, or GCP) 
  • You are familiar with the DevOps toolbox git, docker, Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, and others  
  • Familiarity with major Privacy or Security Tools available on the market
  • Your general understanding of data protection, IT security, and business operations will help you work cross-functional 
  • You speak fluent English (at least CEFR B2), other languages such as German, Spanish or Polish is an advantage, but not a necessity 
  • You are willing to learn and invest time in additional certifications or skills, supported by the company  
  • You have good communication skills
